Comparison is the thief of joy.
I think too many times we compare ourselves and our lives to others around us.
And just because we don’t have what someone else has, we become jealous. Or wish that we were someone else.
But that leaves out the creativity. The creativity of who God made you to be.
That leaves out the uniqueness of your life, of your story.
The uniqueness of who you are.
Instead of focusing on our flaws, we should be embracing in our beauty.
I truly believe there is something beautiful in every one of us. It’s just how we chose to see things.
“Beauty” in our culture is identified by what media portrays. And it is very, very specific. And, very, very unrealistic.
However, Beauty identified by God is much different. He looks at our hearts. (” Do not let your adorning be external- the braiding of your hair and the putting on of gold jewelery, or the clothing you wear- but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious. (1 Peter 3:3-4) )
And remember our Creator who made the Universe, the stars in the sky, the oceans, and the mountains….
Well, He made you too!
He doesn’t create something, unless He absolutely intends too. It is never a mistake.
& HE CREATED YOU.
So don’t let the opinions of others stop you.
Don’t let the voices in your mind tell you that you aren’t good enough.
Never EVER lose that child- like innocence that allows you to dream big.
Don’t let who you are now stop you from who you want to be.
As long as you have breath in your lungs, there’s hope.
God is giving you every breath that you breathe. Make sure what you do with it, is meaningful.
